Hmm..
I don't really have too much to report.. I'm learning alot about photoshop in class, and all that jazz. I actually found my experience with photoshop in highschool to come in handy in class. I also realized that I should probably get the ball rolling on my second project..yeah..

It's me
I'm not going to lie, I've never "blogged" before. I've never actually liked the idea of opening up to a general audience of which you have no idea who is reading your words. Call it shyness, call it whatever, the whole idea is foreign to me. So please bare with me.
Where to start.. Well, my name is Dan Klein, I'm 20 years old, and I'm currently attending the University of Lethbridge. My major is political sciences, in a law transfer program. I was born and raised in Calgary, and I'm Jewish. My father is from Israel, even though he was raised in England, and my mom is from Saskatchewan. I come from a somewhat large family, I'm the third of four kids. I have two older brothers, Dave is 26, and rob is 24. My younger sister Rebecca is 16. Dave is currently attending law school, and rob just finished a degree in mechanical engineering.
I really don't have a good reason as to why I chose U of L. To be blunt it's far enough away from home, without being too far away from home. I took 2 years off after highschool, and it got to the point where I couldn't put up with my parents nagging me to go back to school any longer.. so here I am. My first semester was rocky to say the least, I really just didn't realize how fast paced University is. I mean it feels like you just started when your first midterms are right around the bend, then just when you're recovering from those, finals creep up on ya. Time flies to say the least. So, I chose to take New Media at the recommendation of a family friend within the fine arts faculty.
I'm not 100% what to expect from this course to be honest. I was quite honestly just expecting it to be very technically orientated, which obviously it's not. But, that's not a bad thing. I actually like the direction this course is taking thus far. I'm not a talented artist to say the least, but I think I can compensate for that in other areas.
My technical skills thus far, as far as this course concerns are somewhat limited. Although I have extensive experience with computers, and the internet, I have limited experience with the programs we will actually be using in this course. I mean, I took computers in highschool just like everybody else, and learned how to splice two images together using photoshop, or make a crappy video but I doubt that will really help me in New Media.
My tastes in music vary with my mood. Music is such an important part of my life so it's impossible to narrow it down to 10, But here's the first 10 songs that came up when I set my playlist to random

It's kind of a touchy subject, and I don't pretend to hide my support for Israel in the current conflict in the middle east. Honest Reporting is devoted to exploring, and exposing the anti-Israel mentalities within popular media. It's also the only blog I frequent.
